X-Hacker.org- Advantage CA-Clipper Guide v5.5 - <b>overlaying advantage rdds</b> http://www.X-Hacker.org [<<Previous Entry] [^^Up^^] [Next Entry>>] [Menu] [About The Guide]
   Overlaying Advantage RDDs
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Advantage RDDs can be overlaid with your source code with a real mode
linker, such as Blinker, RTLink and WarpLink, which can overlay C and
Assembler object files. Link scripts have been provided to help define
which Advantage RDD modules can or cannot be overlaid.

Note: If you are running in protected mode (extended memory) or dual
mode, it is NOT recommended to overlay any files. Supported protected
mode linkers at this time include Blinker 3.x and 4.x, ExoSpace and
   CauseWay.

The chart below shows the link script file names provided with Advantage
which define the proper overlay definition.

   Linker Version Advantage File Name
   ----------------------------------------------------------------
   Blinker 1.5, 2.x, 3.x, and 4.x DBFAXS_B.LNK
                        (real mode only)
   RTLink (shipped with Clipper DBFAXS_R.LNK
                         5.2)
   WarpLink 2.0 or later DBFAXS_W.LNK

Note: Use one of the provided scripts to overlay the DBFAXS.LIB
file. These link scripts are to be used only if you are not running
your application in protected or dual mode.

Warning: Do not overlay the communication libraries. The
communication library modules are frequently used. Overlaying the
communication library could lead to very poor performance.
