   General Protection Faults
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

General Protection Faults (GPFs) can occur when running your
application in protected mode. Linkers, such as Blinker 3.x, 4.x and
ExoSpace, can link your CA-Clipper applications to run in protected
mode. GPFs are errors in the protected mode application which may
occur when the application attempts to execute an invalid operation,
access an invalid segment or access beyond the end of a valid segment.

If you receive a GPF, refer to your linker documentation. The
documentation should enable you to determine where the failure occurred
and what direction to take to resolve it. Several linkers have
utilities to evaluate the state of the environment. If you have
determined that a GPF occurred in an Advantage library, call Extended
   Systems Technical Support.
