The TMP or TEMP environment variable
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The TMP environment variable may be used to specify a directory where
Blinker may create a temporary workfile at link time. This setting is an
override of the Blinker script command `WORKFILE'. As an alternative, the
TEMP environment variable may also be used, although `TMP' will take
 precedence if it exists.

When linking very large programs, Blinker's memory requirements may exceed
available memory. When this occurs, Blinker will attempt to temporarily swap
certain information out to disk. For optimum performance, the TMP variable
should point to a RAM disk.

The Blinker DOS extender also uses these variables to determine where to
place its virtual memory swap file if there is insufficient program memory
 at run time.
