backspace ()

     Usage: In INSERT mode, move the cursor to the previous character
            and delete the character.  In OVERTYPE mode, just move
            to the previous character.  The cursor does not back up
            over line breaks.

Parameters: None

   Returns: Non-0 for success (cursor moved), 0 for failure.
