X-Hacker.org- The Guide to Clip-4-Win version 3.0 - please read all of this section and then refer to the http://www.X-Hacker.org [<<Previous Entry] [^^Up^^] [Next Entry>>] [Menu] [About The Guide]
Please read all of this section and then refer to the
QUICK.TXT file that was put in your CLIP4WIN directory during
  installation. It contains:

  (a) Information about any final installation steps needed.

  (b) The actions to check Clip-4-Win is working, for example
building and running various sample programs.

  (c) Possibly some other sections.

You can use Clip-4-Win with or without Object Orientation
(OO), so there's the section "Non-OO Tutorial" as well as the
subsequent "Object Orientation: Don't Panic!" section.
Reading both should help you decide with which you'll be
  comfortable.

You should bear in mind that Windows is a very different
environment to DOS, and that users expect Windows programs to
adhere to the Windows conventions (the "look-and-feel").
These conventions are very different to almost anything you
  find under DOS.

Your existing applications are likely to need some significant
changes to fit in with Windows, so first it's probably best if
you work through the tutorials, read the other parts of the
documentation, and examine the sample source code.

As well as the sample programs, take a look at the section
"Compiling and Linking" later in this manual.

The discussion section about "The Windows Environment" is
essential reading - especially the part about Events.
