    More about programming Windows

Clip-4-Win uses function names which are identical to or very
similar to the real Windows API function names, so you can benefit
from the many books about Windows. Many of them are in their
second or third editions, and have been reviewed favourably.

We recommend "Programming Windows 3.1" by Charles Petzold,
Microsoft Press, ISBN 1-55615-395-3). Although the examples are
in C, this nonetheless provides a strong reference to the Windows
environment. This is certainly the classic work on Windows.

If you can read German (not me, sorry!), I'm told that an even
better book than Petzold's is "Windows Programmierbuch" by
Marcellus Buchheit, Sybex (1992 Duesseldorf), ISBN 3-88745-949-0
(approx 1100 pages). Thanks Siegbert & Kai!

Another good (but advanced) book is "Windows 3.1: A Developer's
Guide" by Jeffrey Richter, Prentice Hall, ISBN 0-13-960543-6.
There's also "Advanced Windows Programming" by Martin Heller,
    J. Wiley & Sons, ISBN 0-471-54711-5.

You might also consider purchasing the Windows SDK (Software
Developer's Kit), although Clip-4-Win will operate just fine
without it. The optional full SDK documentation is painfully
thorough and could easily occupy weeks of reading time. It is
    extremely good, though.

James Conger's "Windows API Bible" has been recommended, too.
