X-Hacker.org- dBsee 4.6 - The Library - Norton Guide http://www.X-Hacker.org [<<Previous Entry] [^^Up^^] [Next Entry>>] [Menu] [About The Guide]

The Application button accesses the definition environment of the
Application allowing to build the structure of the application and to
simulate the functionalities right from the first definition stages.

The structure of an application is made up of a hierarchical menu in which
the labels can be associated the execution of functions created within
dBsee (data entry, reports), written manually by the programmer, or
   contained in third party libraries.

Each function designed within dBsee is made up of a group of objects. An
object is an entity that implements defined functionalities, for example,
a Form object is used to display, modify and insert data while a Report
object is used to print trhe contents of the database's files.

Each object is designed in dBsee 4 by using the design mode. It is
possible to access each object in design mode by using the Design
button, available in the definition environment of the application and in
other development environments. In design mode, it is possible to "design"
the object desired, seeing it in the form in which it will appear in the
generated application (What You See Is What You Get), and to associate
the desired functionalities to each graphical element.

dBsee 4 allows you to create applications with a CUA (Common User
Access) standard interface. Applications having CUA interface, other
than having an interface similar among themselves and therefore easier to
understand by the users, can take advantage of a group of pre-defined
functionalities that allow the access of information to be easy and
pleasant. It is possible to use overlapping and sizeable windows, the
mouse, and a group of controls that allow to graphically display and
modify the information of the database.

With dBsee 4 you can also modify the font used by your application and
modify the color palette, allowing you to access an infinite number of RGB
   (Red, Green, Blue) combinations.
