dBsee 4 saves each field of the database in a single file called
Symbols File. This file contains the unique description of each field
of the database, independent from the database file that contains it. The
symbols file is updated automatically, each time that a new field name is
entered or an existing name is modified in the database. Thanks to the
Symbols file, more files can share the same field, guaranteeing that each
symbol modification will be seen in all the files that reference it.

By pressing the Symbols button, an alphabetical list of all the
symbols will be displayed. In this context, the CTRL-W (Where used)
keys display the list od database files in which the highlighted symbol is
used. In addition, a red LED on the left side of the symbol will indicate
that this symbol is an "orphan" and is not used in any file.
