X-Hacker.org- dBsee 4.6 - The Library - Norton Guide http://www.X-Hacker.org [<<Previous Entry] [^^Up^^] [Next Entry>>] [Menu] [About The Guide]

As previously stated, the index expression is created by tagging the
fields of the file structure with the keys Ctrl-Space Bar. In an
index, the expression is created by using the fields in the order that
they have been tagged. If the sequence is not the one desired, the fields
can be moved into the order desired.

   To do so:

. Access the definition environment of the database using the
Dictionary button from the dBsee main menu.

. Highlight the file containing the index whose creation
expression contains the field order to modify.

     . Press the Index button.

. Using the arrow keys, highlight the index.

     . Press the Fields button.

. Select the field whose position needs to be changed and
       press the Move button.

. Use the arrow keys to move the cursor to the position that
the selected field is to assume and press the Confirm movement
button. The key field has been moved into the new location.

. Press F10 or Esc to close the mask. As can be seen,
the indexkey expression has been modified accordingly.

. Press F10 or Esc until you reach the main menu in
       the Dictionary environment.
