The Simulate button allows to simulate the Search Keys interface that,
in the final application, will allow searches on the current file.

A window is shown containing a list of all the indexes that have been
labelled with S and the field(s) that make up the key needed to enter
the data to be searched for. The description of the index that appears in
the search window is defined in the index definition frame, while the
description of the key field is set in the definition frame of the key
   field.

For each search key it is possible to define a search window that can be
activated, in Simulation and Design, with the F7 function key.
The key or part of the key entered will be used to pre-position the file
   on the desired record.

Example:

Let's consider the Customer registry file on which three indexes have been
   defined:

     . Cust1: key expression CusCod

     . Cust2: key expression CoName

     . Cust3: key expression CoName+Cit

The simulation of how the keys will be displayed allows to verify the
visual effect of the final application, allowing to activate the window,
used for consultation, associated to the current index.

Within the generated application, the user will have a series of function
keys available that will allow the filtering of the file to take place
through conditions constructed on one or more fields.
