X-Hacker.org- dBsee 4.6 - The Library - Norton Guide http://www.X-Hacker.org [<<Previous Entry] [^^Up^^] [Next Entry>>] [Menu] [About The Guide]

Within the Symbols environment it is possible to rename any type of
Symbol (fields, indexes, functions, memory variables). dBsee will also
rename field names in the indexkey expressions. Of course, if the special
markers available in dBsee (%, %N, etc.) have been used, the new name will
be substituted automatically. If not, it has to adapted manually.

To modify the name of a Symbol:

. Access the Dictionary environment and press the
       Symbols button.

. Use the arrow keys to place the cursor in correspondence to
the Symbol whose name is to be changed.

     . Press Ctrl-R

. Enter the new name to be given to the Symbol. The F9
(Check) key shows, in advance, the consequence of the name change
within the database by creating the file dBseeupd.txt. This file
is stored in the \BIN directory of the current application. The
       modifications are not made.

. Press the F10 key and then Confirm in order to make
       the changes final.
