To insert a computed variable in Design mode of a report format, proceed
   as follows:

. By pressing the keys Alt-T, a list of computed variables
defined on the Report object will appear.

. Press the key Ins to insert a new computed variable. A
frame will appear from which you can select the file and group to
which the computed variable will be associated. The first option (the
file) indicates the file that, being skipped to the next record,
recomputes the variable, while the group defines the grouping level
whose termination will reset the variable.

. A mask relative to the insertion of the variable will
       appear. Insert the requested data.

. Confirm the entered data by pressing F10, and the
Esc to return to the Design mode of the report format.

. Press Alt-0 to display the list of defined computed
variables; position yourself on the one just inserted and press
Enter to bring the computed variable onto the report format.

The following figure shows the insertion of a new variable.

Parameters can be defined for the Computed Variable control during the
definition of a date format report.
