  What is FiveWin ?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FiveWin is a library for Clipper 5 which you use in exactly the same way
that you have been using other third party libraries. The main difference
is that FiveWin lets you build executables (EXEs) that run in Microsoft
Windows as REAL Windows Programs. You have all the power of Windows and
  it's environment at your fingertips!

You don't have to know a word of Windows or its complicated programming
system. FiveWin controls everything letting you use your familiar Clipper
syntax in an easy and comfortable way.

The only tool you need is a linker that is capable of producing Windows
executables. These include Microsoft's LINK.EXE linker, version 5.1 or
greater, Optlink, or Blinker 3.x. Other "DOS only" linkers, such as RTLink,
Blinker 2.x, Plink, and CauseWay, do not have the ability to create Windows
executables and are, therefore, not useable.

If you prefer to use Microsoft's linker, you can get it with almost any of
their language products like Microsoft C. The IBM OS/2 operating system
  also includes this linker.

You should not use Borland's TLINK.EXE, as it is not totally compatible
  with the Microsoft linking system.

  Our preference is Blinker 3.x

While the linker is the only Windows tool that you must have, it is highly
recommended that obtain a copy of the Borland Resource WorkShop. Visually
designing and creating dialogs and Windows etc. in a resource editor is
much more productive than hand coding them, but it is not required.
