 segofftochar() Read a string from a segment/offset address
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Declaration
   memory.hdr

 Syntax
   func char segofftochar extern
   param value uint uSegment, ;
         value uint uOffset

 Arguments
   uSegment is a segment address.
   uOffset is an offset address.

 Return
   A char value.

 Description
   This function returns the char located at the specified memory address.

   The function is included for compatibility with earlier Force versions.
   Use the ptr() data type in conjunction with the & and * operators for
   directly writing to explicit memory addresses.

 Example
   #define EXAMPLE_MEMORY
   #include example.hdr

   // Display BIOS string. The address used is valid for most machines,
   // but could print some binary characters as well.

   proc Test_segofftochar
   vardef
      ptr( char ) pMem
   enddef
   ? segofftochar( 0xfe00, 0 )  // get value using function call
   pMem := 0xfe000000 // get value using pointer
   ? *pMem
   endproc

   proc main
   Test_segofftochar()
   endproc
