X-Hacker.org- Reference Manual for GoldED 2.51 - Norton Guide http://www.X-Hacker.org [<<Previous Entry] [^^Up^^] [Next Entry>>] [Menu] [About The Guide]

Besides working on GoldED, I am studying to become an electrical
engineer. For this and other reasons, I don't have much time for
individual support, particularly not for helping beginners with
setup problems etc. Please seek help in the support conferences on
     FidoNet or ask your friends.

I will do my best to be available in the support conferences, but I
can't guarantee replies to all questions. There may even be times
when apparently urgent or important questions seem to be ignored.
Please don't take this personally. It may be that I simply have no
time in those periods. And later when I do have time, it may be
several weeks later and I may decide to skip lightly over the
hundreds of messages that piled up in the echoes. In that case, try
to repeat your question regularly and eventually you should be able
to get a reply from me.

Even though GoldED is a user-supported shareware program, I am
basically developing it for my own personal use and satisfaction. I
derive much pleasure from research, working on new stuff and
sometimes pretty exotic features. This often means that bugfixing
gets lower priority, especially if the bugs aren't bothering me
personally. From a professional and business standpoint, that isn't
a very good thing, but you must remember that I am not a
professional (more like an enthusiastic talented amateur), and
quite possibly not a very good businessman. However, I usually take
notes of bugs when reported, and I try to maintain a public buglist
     with work-arounds, if any.

When you register, you don't earn the right to dictate which
features or fixes that I should work on next. However, your
suggestions will always be valued and often noted on my
ever-growing TODO list. GoldED would never have grown into the
feature-packed program it is today without all the suggestions by
     users.

I am very happy about every single registration I get, because it
gives me more incentive to keep on working on GoldED, and gives me
additional economical freedom - something which is important to
anyone who studies without other economical backing.

Thanks in advance for your support and understanding.

        Odinn Sorensen.
