Default File


     At power-up or reset, the bar code reader initializes a
     default file consisting of its entire memory with variable
     record lengths.  This default file can be divided
     (partitioned) into smaller files by using the Open File
     command.  Data placed in the default file can not be
     accessed by an IRL program, but records can be stored or
     transmitted.  The default file can be used when other files
     are open, but it can not contain data at the time the file
     is opened or when a program is being entered.
