 Accounting functions overview
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The accounting functions provided by NetWare allow a server to charge for
its services. For example, a file server can charge for the number of
database records edited, or the amount of connect time a user consumes. A
print server can charge for the number of pages printed.

Each server determines its own rates to charge for each type of service,
and the file server's bindery stores the list of authorised accounting
servers and each client's accounting information.

Once a server is listed as an authorised accounting server and has logged
in, it can submit a charge to a client's account, place a hold against a
client's account, or query a client's account status. An audit trail of all
charges is maintained in an audit file.

NOVLIB has a number of functions to access and modify the accounting system
and to submit and interrogate charges and balances.
