   tp_suspend() - suspend notifications

   tp_suspend()

   Suspends the delivery of notifications.  This does not prevent
   recognition of conditions that call for notifications, but blocks
   their delivery until tp_resume() is called.

   Example:

       tp_suspend()
       run command
       tp_resume()
