Why does my network stop working when I use FindModem()?

Some network adapter cards are set up by default to use the same I/O
addresses as COM3. The method that Telepathy uses to find out if
there is a serial port installed confuses some of these adapters.
Check the adapter documentation to find out what I/O addresses it
uses. Addresses from 3E8 to 3EF hex conflict with COM3. You might
want to modify FindModem() so that it only checks ports 1 and 2.
