 Compressed .EXEs and .DLLs
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blinker includes transparent file compression of Windows and DOS extended
.EXE and .DLL files and DOS real mode .EXE files. This feature would be
enabled for the final production link of an .EXE or .DLL file before
distribution, and will typically compress files by 50% or more. The
compressed files can be distributed and installed without any further
actions, and automatically decompress themselves at run time completely
 transparently to the user.

The compression algorithm is extremely efficient, giving compression ratios
within a few percent of the best compression tools available, whilst having
the advantage of transparent decompression on a segment basis when the
program is loaded. The compression factor is also configurable on a scale
from 1 to 9, with 1 taking the longest to compress but giving the best
compression ratio, through to 9 giving the fastest compression and
 decompression.

To enable compression simply add the command BLINKER EXECUTABLE COMPRESS
<factor> to the link script file after any other commands connected with the
type of .EXE, such as BLINKER EXECUTABLE EXTENDED etc.
Please refer to the section entitled '.EXE and .DLL file compression' in
Chapter 5, 'Special Features', for more details.
