delete_char ([cnt_to_delete])

     Usage: Deletes one or more characters at the cursor.

Parameters: Cnt_to_delete .int. is the number of characters to
            delete. If omitted, 1 is used.

   Returns: Non-0 for success (char deleted), 0 for failure.
