The Computed variables are usually utilised in the summary bands
(Footers), but can be contained in other areas of the defined report
   format.

Precomputed variables

The Computed variable can be defined as Precomputed. In this case,
the variable is evaluated before the data to which it refers is printed.
For instance, a precomputed variable can be used for printing the number
of selected customers before printing the list of customers.

The Precomputed variable can only be used in the Report body and in
the band immediately preceding the body (its header).

In order to define a variable as precomputed, the properties environment
must be accessed (pressing Alt-T and Ctrl-Enter on the desired
variable), and the Pre-computed variable set to Precomputed.

For more information relative to computed variables consult the chapter
   entitled Definition of the Application.
