   Version 3.0 of the Byte4 Data Compression Library offers Clipper     
   users "seamless" usage of compressed databases. Files are initially  
   compressed, via a Utility Program, on a record-by-record basis using 
   an algorithm specially designed for databases. Compressed files      
   usually yield between 40% and 60% savings. A compressed database can 
   be used inside a Clipper application along with normal databases; no 
   rewriting of code is required. Degradation is minimal for compressed 
   databases.
