   [  Making a database - overview ]

   A Norton Guide database is made from

     1)  A link file describing the menu structure
     2)  A number of source files containing the text of the database

   Both types are plain text files (ASCII) that can be created with any
   text editor.

   To make a useable database file, all the source files must be compiled
   (with NGXC) into object files (file extension .NGO) and linked together
   (with NGXL) into a database file (file extension .NG).
