name            getfld  --  Get an entry into a field

synopsis        c = getfld(table,node);
                COUNT c;            exit key if ok, or 0
                GETTABLE table;    get table
                GETITEM node;      struc that holds info for cur item

description  This function prints the field in a non active
           attribute then calls the correct input routine,
           which then calls the validation function if
           necessary.  Returns the key that caused it to exit.
