Remarks

CERT is a high resolution driver for the Digital Vision 24-bit ComputerEyes
R/T video capture board that offers features not found in the Digital Vision
software. Generally, CERT provides for improved video capture with optimum
palettes, not possible with Digital Vision software which uses a fixed
palette. Targa 8-bit flags cannot be used on the command line at the same
time as Targa 16-bit flags with CERT.

Default is to NTSC analog composite video through the RCA jack on the
support bracket. SVIDEO is a higher quality video signal not compatible with
and different from NTSC, requiring special SVIDEO equipment. SVIDEO signal
goes through the 4-pin DIN connector on the support bracket. PAL video
signal follows European/other countries' standards. Follow manufacturer's
instructions for best results.

For best results, follow these steps in order:

1. Capture full screen with /640 switch to Targa 16 file format or capture
with /512 switch to Targa 24-bit format, if you have sufficient storage
space on your hard disk for the large temp file.

2. Use ScaleTGA (part of Sunshow, standard edition) to reduce image size of
full screen Targa 16 to a window smaller than the screen width and height
of the required video mode you wish to use.

3a. Use TGA2GIF or TGA2PCX (part of Sunshow, standard edition) with the /d
dither switch to optimize the palette and convert to GIF or PCX,
remembering to pass the screen width and screen height values to the
8-bit format, since Targa is video mode independent. Do not dither twice.

3b. Or, use CutTGA (part of Sunshow, standard edition) with the /d dither
switch to optimize the palette and convert to a Targa 8-bit file. Do not
    dither twice.
